To complete a Leopard 1a2 is mandatory to add a new Vickers L7A 105/51 gun with thermal protection sleeve. This sleeve was mounted on the bare barrel to avoid distortions in extreme weather conditions. The barrel was kept at a high temperature during fire operations. After firing operations the barrel was cooling down slowly avoding troubles.
